Secretary hand is used until 10 Sep 1673 (folio 106r); italic hand is used from 1 Oct 1673 (folio 107v).

Front pastedown contains several annotations:

  1. statement 'This Wast Booke began July the 8th 1668'.

  2. list of members of the 'Committee for building the Hall' at a meeting held 5 Aug 1672.

  3. undated memorandum reading 'Master and Wardens, Chosen Satterday after St Peter. Stocke Keepers, Chosen i Martii & Treasurer. Renter Wardens, Chosen at our Lady day.'

  4. undated list of details of four tradesmen described as 'Servants to the Companie'; names and trades listed are Mr Lamsdall, Cook, Mr Shorey, carpenter, Mr fforde, Bricklayer and Mr Wattell, Playsterer.

  5. undated memorandum reading 'Mr William Laucles Will is dated 14 Maii 22 Elizabeth: As for the Settlem[en]t of his land, he refers to a former Will dated 11 October in the 16th yeere of Q[ueen] Eliz[abeth] He made a deede dated 7 Julii 9 Eliz[abeth] 1567'.

Attached to folios throughout volume are several slips of paper:

front flyleaf: undated memorandum reading 'Renter Warden Williams Booke ended w[i]th the ffreemen of the Co[u]rt of the 3d of March 1672 vizt w[i]th John Crouth & Will[ia]m Edwards. So that the next Renters Booke must begin w[i]th the ffreemen of the Co[u]rt of the 5th of May 1673 vizt w[i]th Israell Harrison & Charles Barker'.

folio 25r: receipt dated May [16]69, reading 'Rec[eived] of Mr Tokefeild a Bond of £40 for the payment of £20 due from John [paper missing] to the Companie this present May 8th day Rent & Mr Tho[mas] Hunt warden', and receipt dated 1669, reading 'Receaved of Mr Tokefeild, a Bond of £40 for the payment of £20 due from ffrancis Robynson to the Companie in July 1668'. In the margin is written 'This was [illegible] to Mr Tyler'.

folio 45v: memorandum dated 3 Sep reading 'Delivered to Mr Warden Roper the Scotch Agreem[en]t w[i]th the [illegible] etc'.

folio 92v: undated memorandum reading 'M[aste]r to call to Warden Mearne for the Kinges [illegible: possibly 'letter'] about Printing Howses etc'.

On folio 106v is added in pencil 'John Lilly's writing'. John Lilly was Clerk of the Company 1673-1681.

Back pastedown is annotated with 3 lists:

  1. members of the Committee for Building, meeting of 11 Apr 1670; names listed are Sir Tho[mas] Davies, Mr Robynson, Mr Thrale, Mr Crook, Mr Tyler, Mr Smith, Mr Tibbes, Mr White, Mr Norton and Mr Mearne.

  2. Feoffees for the Corporation, 3 Feb 1669; names listed are Sir Tho[mas] Davies, Mr Sam[uel] Man, Mr Phil[ip] Stephens, Mr Willi[a]m Leak, Mr Evan Tyler, Mr Ralph Smith, Mr ffranc Coles, Mr Tho[mas] Hunt, Mr Edw[ard] Husband, Mr Willi[a]m Tibbes, Mr Abell Roper, Mr Rob[er]t White, Mr James ffeather, Mr Humphrey Turbey, Mr Roger Norton, Mr Sam[uel] Mearne and Mr Tho[mas] Roycroft; beside some names is written 'mort'.

  3. Feoffees for the English Stock, 3 Feb 1669; names listed are Sir Tho[mas] Davies, Mr Willi[a]m Lee, Mr Hum[phrey] Robynson, Mr Rich[ard] Thrale, Mr Andrew Crook, Mr Willi[a]m Leak, Mr Evan Tyler, Mr Ralph Smith, Mr ffranc Coles, Mr Rich[ard] Royston, Mr Tho[mas] Hunt, Mr Edw[ard] Husband, Mr Willi[a]m Tibbes, Mr Abell Roper, Mr Rob[er]t White, Mr James ffeather, Mr Hum[phrey] Turbey, Mr Roger Norton, Mr Sam[uel] Mearne and Mr Tho[mas] Roycroft; beside some names is written 'mort'; at the foot of the list is written 'Mr Belwood Councell for Mr Turner'.

Small pieces of paper, annotated with iron gall ink, are attached to some folios with metal pins.

Repaired front cover; front and back covers are stained; bottom corners of pages are worn and dog-eared; front flyleaf and first section are only attached to the textblock by two threads near the top; two folios within the first section are entirely loose; back end papers are pasted together.
