Inserted into front pocket are 11 documents:

  1. undated submission by Mr Adland stating that the fine for not serving the Offices should be raised to 150 guineas instead of 200, that the fines for the Master, Wardens and other Offices should be half that amount, and that those gentlemen disabled from illness should pay the original fine amount. At the top is written 'Withdrawn by Mr Adland 4/8/63 C.R.'.

  2. undated memorandum reading 'Mr Gardner gave notice, that at the next Court he will bring forward a motion on the subject of our charity fund, proposing its devotion to the building a certain number of alms houses for the reception of the decayed members of this Company or their Widows'.

  3. memorandum reading 'Stationers' Hall 2nd April 1867 Free William Clowes the younger, son of William Clowes Patrimony Herbert Jameson Waterlow, son of Alfred Jas Waterlow- Patrimony'.

  4. memorandum reading 'Feb 23d 1865, per Mr Taylors. 1847 May 22d Petition of Mr Davidson dismissed by order of Insolvent Debtors Court he having her discharged from custody without taking the benefit of the Act'.

  5. memorandum reading 'Share of £40 [illegible] 1857 Nov. 3. Diggens £40 1858 March Parkins £40 May 4 Singer £40 Oct 5 Webster £40 4 shares Oct 5 1858'.

  6. undated list of yearly Wardens' Balances for 1829-1839.

  7. rough list of members elected to shares, 1858.

  8. undated memorandum reading 'Shares vacant £320 J. Miles Esq. deceased 200 James Gillet d[itt]o 100 J. Y. W. Farrow d[itt]o 40 J. H. Page d[itt]o'.

  9. receipt dated 8 Jan 1867 for the sum of £50, received from Charles Edw[ard] Baines on his being admitted to the cloathing of the Company.

  10. memorandum dated 2 April 1867 stating that William Clowes the younger and Herbert Jameson Waterlow, having been made free of the Company that day, request to be admitted to the cloathing of the Company.

  11. statement dated 2 May 1864 from Katherine Masters and T Buckle, executrix and executor of the will of Joseph Masters, authorising the assignment of his apprentices Joseph Andrews, Horace Howlett and William Harris to Joseph Reynolds Masters.

Inserted into back pocket are 10 documents:

  1. undated letter from Edward Gadenne to the Worshipful Company of Stationers, asking for assistance.

  2. undated memorandum by Mr Ald[erma]n Waterlow reading 'That the Treasurer do annually lay upon the Table of this Court at the monthly Court in February a statement of the [illegible] Emoluments received by him by virtue of his Office for the year ending at Christmas then last past'.

  3. undated list of Masters, their dates of election and the former Masters they replaced, given for the years 1593, 1648, 1683, 1681, 1717 and 1772 with references of the respective Court Book entries.

  4. undated memorandum reading 'That a Visitor's ticket be transferable from one Member of the Court to any other Member by indorsement of the Member to whom it was issued. Carried'.

  5. undated list of orders relating to admission to the Court and examples of discharged members, given for the years 1671, 1700, 1705, 1726, 1785 and 1817 with references of the respective Court Book entries.

  6. undated memorandum listing Court shares and the amount of payments at Midsummer and Christmas.

  7. undated list of apprentices bound to Henry Fleys, who died on 27 Oct 1857, with the dates they were bound and the dates their terms expired.

  8. undated note reading 'No. 29 Little Bell Alley Colemanfleet Sophia Blansland per Janetta Blansland'.

  9. undated memorandum titled 'Gross Income of the Treasurer for 1867'.

  10. receipt dated 26 Mar 1846 for the sum of £24, received from Alfred Souter on being excused serving the office of Renter Warden. The names at the bottom of the memorandum, W[illia]m Magnay, Bar[one]t, Ald[erman] and Warden, and Geo[rge] Grunhill, Treasurer, are crossed out, and added to the top is the word 'dead'.
