Inserted into front pocket are 2 documents:

  1. undated memorandum reading 'George Ellis 1 Ley Lane Paternoster Row wishes to purchase his freedom'.

  2. undated memorandum reading 'Petitions wanted out Morris Robt (not free) for Blackwell Just Robt (d[itt]o) d[itt]o Hearn Rot (d[itt]o) d[itt]o'.

Inserted into front endpapers is a printed copy of the Freeman's Oath of the Stationers' Company.

Inserted into back pocket are 7 documents:

  1. undated letter from J Jenour to the Worshipful Master, Wardens and Court of Assistants of the Company of Stationers, requesting assistance after disappointments and losses in the field of literature.

  2. letter dated 26 Mar 1833 from Sam[uel] Pocock to the Master, Wardens and Court of Assistants of the Stationers Company, stating that while he is happy to serve as Renter Warden, he will resign his membership of the Company if not permitted a share in Stock and profits to which he should be entitled.

  3. letter dated 2 Oct 1832 from Deborah Cattermole to an unknown recipient authorising her daughter to attend the bonding of her son-in-law William Cattermole in her stead.

  4. minutes of a meeting of the Committee to audit the Master and Warden's accounts, 16 Aug 1832.

  5. memorandum dated 20 Dec 1832 reading 'Stationers Hall 20th December 1832 John Adland [illegible] single fees in November William Dimnore able Ab Scrivener able'.

  6. printed and manuscript notice dated 6 Nov 1804, titled 'The Order of Procession for the Barges as Regulated by the Right Honourable the Lord-Mayor and Court of Aldermen, of the City of London, to be observed on Friday the 9th Day of November, 1804'.

  7. printed and manuscript certificate dated 1 Oct 1830, stating that apprentice Thomas Henry Gladwell should be discharged from his Master, Thomas Johns, and be turned over to another Freeman of the City for the remainder of the term of his apprenticeship. Signed by M Windale, attorney for the apprentice.
