History
Sidney Hodgson joined the Stationers' company in 1907. He served as Stock Keeper in 1930 and was appointed Court Assistant on 7 October 1941. He served as Chairman of the Stationers' School governors from 1942 to 1944. He was elected Master of the Stationers' Company in 1949.
A long-time promoter of the Stationers' Company Archive, Hodgson was appointed Honorary Archivist in 1951, and served in that role until 1972. In 1969 he was awarded the Company's silver medal in recognition of 'his great work in keeping and preserving the unique and important archives of the Company'. (Court Book O, 4 December 1969).
