All minutes are signed by the master; minutes are given for ordinary court meetings, special courts, court meetings for the election of corporation officers and meetings of the court and partners.
Typical order of entries for ordinary court meetings is: place, date and time of court meeting; list of those present, consisting of the master, wardens, assistants and liverymen; report of deaths, when relevant; approval of the orders of court from the preceding court meeting; admission of new court assistants, when relevant; binding of apprentices, cloathing and being made free of the company; disposal of English Stock shares; resolutions, including those relating to recommendations and reports of committees; payment of charitable annuities; names and personal details of those cloathed, made free of the company or bound as apprentices.
Spine reads 'Court Book 1 Feb 1938 to 3 July 1945' and 'k'.
Inserted into front endpapers is a slip of paper with the caption 'A letter from F C Francis, secretary of the Bibliographical Society, read to the Court of 3 May 1938 on the appointment of W A Jackson as editor of the court books from 1602'.
Pasted into volume are 5 documents:
page 12: accounts titled 'Stationers' Company's School, Hornsey, statement of receipts and payments for the Year 1936-37' on front; letter dated 16 Feb 1938 from William Poulten, Beadle, to a Court member, summoning him to a meeting of the court of assistants on 1 Mar 1938 and giving the agenda, on back.
page 112: accounts titled 'Stationers' Company's School, Hornsey, statement of receipts and payments for the Year 1937-38'.
page 198: accounts titled 'Stationers' Company's School, Hornsey, statement of receipts and payments for the Year 1938-39'.
