Scope and content

Draft and fair copy minutes in chronological order; entries in both sets of minutes are divided into paragraphs with headings written in the margin; type of court meeting and date are normally given in the margin at top of entries, with the word 'present' opposite; names of those present given under 'present'; location of court meeting is always stated in fair copy minutes.

Spine reads 'Court Book Liber. E. from 1674 to 16 [83]', 'E' and 'Byelaws Eng[lis]h Stock'.

On recto of first front endpaper is an inscription reading '1st March yearly. Read such of the By laws of English Stock. Fo[lio] 131 as are marked X'. On verso of second front endpaper is a note in late 18th-early 19th century hand reading 'NB. For all proceedings of Court, to Oct[obe]r 24th 1679, inclusive, p. 93 see book D p. 244b, &c, where they are also entered: so that properly speaking, this book begins p. 94.' Added to this is a modern note reading 'being, until then, the continuation of the previous Waste Court Book'.

In front half of volume are draft minutes:

folios 1r-94r: draft minutes, 1 Mar 1675-29 Oct 1679; at end is a note reading 'This follows the Court Book Liber D from the Court hold in October ye 24th. 1679'.

folios 94v-105v: draft minutes, 3 Nov 1679-6 Dec 1680; these have no surviving fair copies.

Fair copy minutes begin on folio 106r.

Near front of fair minutes is a copy case and opinions:

folios 122r-124v: 'A Stated Case w[i]th Counsell's opinion concerning the Stock'; opinions given by Sir William Jones and Sir Creswell Levings, 1 and 4 Nov 1679, and Henry Trinder, 29 May 1681; case is copied into Liber A, folios 191r-193r.
