Both the Innovation Excellence Awards (IEA) and the Warrants Scheme were launched in 2014 to strengthen ties between the Stationers' Company and the industries it traditionally represents. The IEA are open to all sectors across the communications and content industries, and accept nominations from commercial companies, start-ups, charities, trade associations, educational institutions, and public bodies. Awards are spread across six categories for products and services available in the UK market. The Stationers’ Company Warrant is bestowed as a mark of recognition to highlight excellence within the communication and content industries. IEA winners are revealed at an annual ceremony, which also celebrates current Warrant holders.
