Many were originally used as covers for bundles of Treasurers' vouchers and powers to pay dividends; others have handwritten annotations and were used to note numbers of almanacks sold, unsold, to be printed or to be returned to the stamp office.

ii: printed almanack publication notices, 1778-1873 [9 items]. The 18th century items were originally used as covers for bundles of Treasurers' vouchers.

iii: letter from William Chase to George Hawkins regarding advertisement and publication of almanacks, 5 Nov 1795.
